For Palestine refugee children, UNRWA schools are places of safety and of learning; places where a child can grow and dream; places where a child can breathe.
Education is Oxygen for the over 530,000 Palestine refugees who attend 709 UNRWA schools in Gaza, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and the West Bank.
Your Gift of Success will help ensure that the neediest students in the occupied Palestinian territory can go to an UNRWA school to learn, explore, and breathe.
"There was blood on the ground and glass everywhere from the impact of the rockets," remembers Jenin. Jenin's elementary school in Gaza was shelled by the Israeli military during the 2014 armed conflict. As Jenin made her way slowly through shattered glass and debris, her resolve strengthened. Destruction and violence would not define her. In the rubble, she would plant flowers. As the flowers grew, so would her dreams for a better future.
Jenin is not alone in experiencing the trauma of violence, which too often marks the lives of children in Gaza. As much as 80% of students at our schools in Gaza require assistance in overcoming challenges stemming from poverty, blockade and ongoing hostilities.
Your Gift of Success has the power to support young women like Jenin reach their potential. Thousands of Palestine refugee children graduate from UNRWA schools each year with the hope of a brighter future.
